Paul Curtis Steelman is an entertainment architect based in Las Vegas, Nevada and Macau, PRC. He is best known for designing the Sands Macao - the first "Las Vegas Style" casino in Asia. The facility was paid for with its profit in less than one year.[1]

Steelman was born September 23, 1955 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was born into an architectural family. His father was an architect in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His father, Edgar Jones Steelman was a principle in the firm of Wasleski Steelman Associates. Paul married Maryann Theresa DeSantis in 1980. They have two children, Stephen Steelman (1983) (an actor) and Suzanne (1986) (an architectural graduate student). The family lives in Las Vegas and Mammoth Lakes, California.
Steelman attended Atlantic City High School (1973) and Clemson University (1977). He was employed by Wasleski Steelman, the city of Atlantic City, and the Golden Nugget, Inc./MGM Mirage Companies. In 1987 he founded Paul Steelman Ltd. Architect. The name has been changed over the years to Paul Steelman Design Group and then to Steelman Partners, LLP. In 2007, Architectural Record rated Steelman Partners as the 64th largest architectural firm in The United States with $59,000,000 in total revenues.[2]
Steelman was featured in Forbes Magazine, "Designing for Dough," in May 2006.[3] Paul was also featured in the DVD of Oceans 13 in the extra video, "The Opulent Illusion". Steelman developed 70 architectural design and planning rules to create a financially successful entertainment project. His buildings have been completed in almost all styles from classical architecture, to themed architecture to modern architecture to iconic architecture. The facade of his Casino Oceanus near the ferry terminal in Macau is a one-to-one copy of the Water Cube in Beijing.[4]
Steelman was selected to be featured inside Asian Gaming's annual, "Asian Gaming 50" as number 32 in 2008 [5] and as number 33 in 2009.[6]
